The J. J. tech Jet Pump Company was incorporated
under the laws of the State of Texas in 1995. It holds USA and selected
foreign country patents on its line of Jet Pumps which were developed to
produce large volumes of sub surface formation fluids with inclusions of
moderate to high solid content.
The unique patented design allows easy retrieval of the pump from deviated
and horizontal wells. Retrieval of the pump from the hole for replacement of
the nozzle or expansion tube is done by manipulation of the surface valves
and reverse circulation of fluid with the existing production equipment
(plunger pump). No wire line, pulling unit or work over rig is required.
These features, plus the larger flow area, direct fluid flow path allowing
high production volumes and give the J. J. Tech Jet Pump a marked advantage
over existing designs of jet pumps and other types of artificial lift. The
small size of the portion of the pump retrieved, referred to as "the
carrier", is 6.5 inches to 8.5 inches in length, making it very attractive
to clients with highly deviated or horizontal wells which require artificial
lift both on land and offshore.
J.J.Tech
jet pumps use 40% to 80% of the energy required by an ESP to produce the
same volume of formation fluid.
The down hole jet pump has no moving parts, the carrier
which can be circulated in and out of the housing, transports the nozzle and
mixing tube which are the only parts subject to wear. If the surface system
has proper strainers to clean power fluid, the nozzle life is theoretically
infinite, the mixing tube will be exposed to the produced fluids and the
accompanying solids content. Operator is relieved from the extra expense of
work over rigs for pump related problems due to the pump being pumped in and
out of the hole. Maintenance cost compared to that of ESP will be 5% to 10%.
